Learn to Play

The Learn-to-Play program is operated through Jefferson City Parks & Recreation and includes skating and stick handling instruction for players new to hockey. The lessons for each week include mini-games and interactive practice-style drills, as well as direct instruction.

• 60 minutes of on-ice practice
• Full hockey equipment required: limited rental is available from the Mid-Missouri Tigers Youth Hockey Club for a $150 deposit (per session); $100 is refunded when the equipment is returned on the last day of the session. (New for May 2023 session)
• Available to all ages 5 to 12, young children must be able to stand and move on skates.
• If your child has never skated before, a Learn to Skate session is recommended before and/or concurrently with Learn-to-Play.
